Premier Big Boy

As a project, I'm thinking of upgrading a Premier Big Boy. Are there any years of older Big Boys to avoid? I'm wondering if there are years where the levels of detail are better than others. I did the same project on an Allegheny and purchased an older Lionel. I completed the project but have always been disappointed at the engines lack of detail
