Hi. I tried running my Commodore Vanderbilt steam engine PS1 and when I started it up it made 3 loud sounds. It wasn't a clank or klink but more of a steam blast kind of sound. It was working fine but now it doesn't run. The smoke fan goes on but no sounds. I cant seem to put it in reset as when I move the throttle up and down on the Z4000 no sounds were made. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Considering how old the model is, and when was the last time you ran it, the old/original battery should be replaced with a NEW and fully charged battery.
Smoke and light are track power. I would go with new battery and try again, but that does not sound like the normal start up so something weird has happened. No easy solution on this, if battery doesn't fix it. G
If you are using the Z-4000, there is no need to advance and retard the throttle 18 times and count to go to reset. Read the instructions, use the PGM button, it is much faster and trouble free.
