Problem with new Lionel SD40T-2 - sku 84626

Make sure the slider for the brake is not on . Sometimes it sticks there should not be a solid blue line under the speed bar on the remote.

Thanks for the idea - I’ve definitely fallen into the brake slider trap before.  Unfortunately it’s not the case this time.  

I ran the locomotive in conventional and LC+ mode as well with the same result.

Save yourself the headaches and send it back to where you purchased it. Have them send another or get your money back. 

What was the diagnosis?  I have an SD40T-2 (bicentennial unit) be having the same way?

If your other locomotives are working correctly then the problem is this locomotive.  I agree with Rod; it is new, send it back.

I had the same problem out of the box with my RJ Corman SD40T-2.  Sent it back my dealer.  I have not heard  back yet as to what is wrong.

I sent mine back to the dealer, got some store credit for some other things I wanted.  Order another one from another dealer - runs great no issues.

I didn't get an update from the original dealer as to the issue, so I can't add any knowledge to this thread.
