This is a problem I just can't get my head around.

With no power going to the track, I can place my RailKing RS3 on the track, turn on the handheld, turn on the TIU, and control the engine fine.

If I shut down, replace the RS3 with my WBB E7 (ERR Cruise Commander, MRC AC Sounder, and an LED headlight installed), turn on the handheld, then turn on the TIU, the engine takes off like a rocket, the readout says 0.0 volts.  It acts like it's getting the full voltage from the Z750 transformer (like in DCS mode).

I can back the thumbwheel down and the engine will stop.  Move the thumbwheel so the readout indicates 5.0 volts or above and the engine starts to move forward with no problems, like it should.

If I turn off the power, then turn it back on with the E7 still on the track, it takes off again, under full power.

I double-checked my wiring (nothing's been changed since I did the initial install last year).  I disconnected the MRC AC Sounder, I disconnected the LED headlight...same results.

I even turned off FIXED 2 and VAR 2 just in case, but if the engine is sitting on the track when I turn power on it flies away.

Any thoughts?

Bob,

You have your variable TIU channel set to Fixed Mode of operation. Reset it to variable mode:

Menu/System/DCS Setup, select the variable channel and press the FXD soft key until the message comes up "Variable channel set to variable mode".

This and a whole lot more is all in "The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", now available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book from MTH's web store site! Click on the link below to go to MTH's web page for the book!
