Have the Original BB purchased in 1988. Little use. I am an experienced Train Guy (over 50 yrs) so first thing I always do is check everything out for proper operation
Because of age- knew it needed a new battery before starting anything up. S0- New BCR installed 4/30/2020. Engine powers up goes forward and backward- with bell and steam whistle sounding fine.
Using QSI Power programmer to reset everything rather than transformer handle motions.
First Problem- no chuff sound in motion. Selected #6 which is reset for chuffing volume. Ran fine after programming. Next day startup gave no chuff sound at all. Also tried selection #18 which is factory reset for default settings. No chuff sound at all. I have triple checked all the voltage settings and wires are properly hooked up.
Second Problem - is smoke unit was properly filled(15 drops) before starting anything up., following the factory instruction manual and blew down the stack to start it going. Lots of downward smoke that way(so I know the smoke unit is good) - but- no smoke is coming out the stack upward. So I suspect that the smoke fan no good?
Any help would be appreciated. My email is in my profile.
Thanks. Glenn Spencer
