where can i find a proto chip for a Rail King SD 90 Mac model 30-2120-1 I need one,
will this engine run without this chip any help appreciated

Are you looking for and MTH protosound 1 sound chip? if so you will need to contact MTH for that particular model
I don't know if those are still available from MTH because of how old the QSI system is, but there is that same engine on Dash auctions with a starting bid of $60.00. That in itself may be the same cost as a chip. The one on Dash has QSI proto sound.
MTH still has PS-1 chips, and they are $30 plus shipping. I ordered one about 6 months ago with info from forum member GGG.
sinclair is correct, the chip part # is AI-0000037, to get the correct sound into the chip, use part # AE-3021201. Shipping will probably cost almost as much as the chip. If you want, I can order one for you, I need some little parts from MTH. This, of course, assumes that the loco has original Protosounds. Protosounds 2.0 is a whole 'nother ball game.
You'll end up spending around $40 for the chip. If you can find someone that has done a PS/2 or TMCC Upgrade, you can probably get the whole board set with the chip for that kind of money!
I have a couple of diesel PS/1 sound chips, it depends on how picky you are.
