Norm is bringing in a group of these cars. Decals have been appearing on his site; I am curious if anyone knows when models might arrive and who has interest in them.

Brad,
Norm had a pilot model of an ACL car on his table at the Chicago Show last March. The project was to be different car designs brought in at different times throughout the year. Unlike the 1937 modified boxcars that all hit at one time.
I've heard he has run into delays this year with the project. Last I have heard is maybe sometime in the beginning of the year. Which could line up for O Scale West. But everything I've heard is second or third hand. I've been told they are still coming.
Norm has been adding a number of decals to his line that do not have models at this time. One can only hope he has a number of projects in the works.
George,
I do hope he does accurate variations with the heights adjusted to prototype; I would be thrilled to get Erie, Pere Marquette, ATSF and C&O. I cannot recall the others he was going to add

The last I read (probably the same as you and George) is that the boxes were destroyed in the Philippines. Which begs the question - were the models being made there also?
And from talking to Norm these cars were supposed to have road-specific details, thus the different types of running boards and brake gear available from Protocraft now.
As for different heights or ends, I haven't heard that. But I did voice my opinion when discussing the 1937 10'6" cars that major differences like Duryea underframes or ATSF's transverse reservoir really are worthy of being done separate and priced accordingly.
He seemed receptive, especially for things like NSC ends on Canadian 1937 AAR cars. Then again, if/when he does standard 1937 cars the CP and CN were by far the largest users so they warrant road-specific details.
When buying premium brass like Protocraft, I'd rather have a $400 accurate car over a $300 stand in... And that surely affects how many cars I will buy.
Did he loose models in the Philipine's storm a couple months ago?

Not that I know of.
Just the boxes. The builder is Boo Rim. They are located in South Korea but some things, such as the boxes, are contracted out and could be from most anywhere.
