I finally unboxed a used MTH Premier Santa Fe AA set (I bought it a few years ago) #MT-2151LP,Proto-Electronics by QSI

I put it on the track, and it seemed to run fairly well, with what I thought was a garbled sound system. Thinking it had a battery I decided to put in a BCR. Well,  it did have a BCR so that was not an issue.

In removing the shell, however, this barrel-shaped piece was sitting loose inside. Can anybody identify it and me know what to do about it? One side seems to have a ‘coating” which makes me wonder if it was ‘glued” to another piece? Repair suggestions welcome.

Thanks!

That is the heatsink spacer for the rectifier on the PS2 lower power board.

That long screw you took out? Yeah, that one.

Thank you. That long screw was also 'loose' in the shell. The box says this is PS1 loco, not PS2. It's got two motors, and I don't see that 'heatsink spacer' on the other. Any photos that might help, before I get it to a real repairman?
