PRR B-1 for 2R

I believe it was NJ Custom Brass that imported the B-1 Rats several years ago.  As far as I remember , Sunset has never produced them.

I have a pair of Sunset 3rd Rail that I bought back in the 90s(I think). They were made in 2 and 3 rail.

Sunset/Third Rail did make them in 3 and 2-rail versions. The 2-rail version came semi-permanently coupled and electrically interconnected, so that one unit was the (+) side and the other unit was the(-) side. Both units have motors. I seperated mine to run as single units. Not a hard job with some basic skills and tools. They run very nicely and top speed is around 25-30mph. Perfect! You need to add a little weight as only 2 drivers are powered. Plenty of room for DCC controls, although no one makes a sound unit for them that I am aware of. New, they were in the $400+ range. I haven't seen any lately at any shows or on "da bay". A well done, nice little motor, if you can find them.
