Many moons ago before the great migration, there was a topic regarding PRR E-2b, E-3b and E-2c engines.  They were bypassed by other engines and languished in obscurity.  However they provided diversity to PRR electric fans.

However at that time there was, if I remember correctly, considerable interest in having 3rd Rail making them .

Is there any interest in anyone making these electrics, scale please?

I am definitely interested and need a place to place my engine purchase funds.

Anyone else seriously interested?

I have talked to a number of PRR modelers at various shows about Sunset/3rd Rail doing these locomotives. There is a good possibility that may happen at some point. If so, the most likely candidate would be numbers 4938-4943 - the E2b, and it would almost certainly be done in brass. Probably couldn't sell enough for die cast or plastic body shells.

These looked similar to an Alco FA diesel with pantographs. If you have an interest please let Scott Mann or me know at the York show or at any of the  2 rail shows where I have the Sunset/GGD display.

PS to John Sethian: I know, I know, you'll take all 6 road numbers.

I will not take all 6 numbers, too much for me for now, but maybe over time.

I did this this way to ascertain if I was the only one who is interested and then notify Scott of the results, if any.

The 6 electrics worked hard but were supplanted by the E-44.

I have tried to figure out how to include the pictures in reply without success, sorry.  Best I can do is as an attachment.

Thanks. I think most folks would be interested in a pair of these although the PRR ran them with lots of other locomotives. I saw them as a pair, with P5's,diesel switchers and I believe I saw them with E2c and E3b's also.
