I have found an MTH Rail King GG1 in Tuskan Red, with PS-2 for $214 and change, but the PS-2 board has failed.
Can these boards be replaced, and if so, is it cost effective to do so?

The boards are not available. No one knows when they begin delivering.

It is probably not cost effective, especially if you don't do the work. The board is $200 and we have no idea when they might turn up, there's no current estimate as to a shipping date.

As I suspected. I will keep looking for good working PS2/PS3 versions.
Thanks again
Is this the 5V or 3V version? I have boards in stock, but it is an issue of added cost. Plus RK doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the Premier have. G

My layout is predominantly O-31 curves, with a few O-41 curves, so I can't run premier versions of most locos.
I have found a couple MTH PS-2 "Dealer Appreciation Program" versions, that are in the blue box.
These state that they run on 0-31 curves, where the RK state that they run on 0-27 curves.
Can anyone speak to the difference between the "Rail King" and "Dealer Appreciation Program" versions?

Item number?
My guess is they are the same as far as minimum radius goes. The DAP semi scale ones are just Rail King units, which are the same size as Postwar Lionel GG1s.
