Hi

I have a couple of PS3.0 engines which I have run successfully both in conventional mode and with DCS.  I know they require time for the super capacitors to charge and (I think) you should apply 12v to the track.

I've let both sit for 5 minutes - trying different tracks.  Nothing.  DCS does not recognize them.  Track definitely has power.  I moved the engines around - still they won't power up.

Any suggestions?

I'm going to answer my own question.  I should feel stupid but I'm going to hang this on MTH.  The DCS/DCC and 2Rail/3Rail toggles both were in the incorrect position.  I didn't change them... the trucks did.  A combo of the toggles too sliding without much effort and the design of the trucks (SD-40 and ES44C) which brought a metal bar in contact with the toggles.

As Emily Lutella used to say some 45 years ago on SNL, "Never Mind."

You can remote those switches and just splice the two wires together, that way they'll never get switched to the wrong position again.  I have also removed the 2-rail/3-rail switches from quite a few of these.
