I recently bought a new 4-4-0 little general steam engine last week. did not get a chance to try it until tonight, boy am I discussed. ran half way around the track and went off track, powered down immediately.then made sure all wheels on track again. re-powered up again and OK about halfway around the track again and amps jumped to 11 amps, immediately powered down again, the first time i powered it down read 5 amps.waited about 15 minutes.then decided to try it one more time before i have to take it back t6o my hobby shop where i bought it from last week.

Anybody had a issue that seems to go away after cool down, but when started up again same thing happens after  a minute or so powered up running!

If ps3.0 fail this quick out of the box I'll stick with PS2 3volt, there dependable!

I'm using MTH TRACK PLASTIC ROAD BED TYPE,i noticed that the engine shorts on the curves, don't believe it is an electrical problem but you can just move the engine buy hand on the track and get a dead short.even had a short with tender disconnected and not on the track!!wondering if the center roller on the locomotive is hanging out too wide and shorts against the two rails, that 's what i suspect!

If that is the case it is a bad design!
