Which 2 engines? Depending on the model, I'd suggest doiing it yourself. I found it to be fun.  I've done 2. One was very easy, as it was a scale Williams GG1, with space for a family of mice to run the drive wheel, if the tach paper didnt fit.. The other was a PS1 GP9. That one took a little bit of planning, because it was my first aand it is smaller. Since yours are Standard Gauge, I expect them to be smaller. I will suggest you go right to a BCR, as it will save you precious space. The other thing I will suggest is remove the ps1 lighting and boards carefully. I wish I had done so, as I would have reused some of it in conventional models. The forum sells a great video and folks here will answer any questions.
If you have any ps2 engines, open the one closest to the ps1 you want to upgrade and study it. That will probably help answer the question, about doing it yourself.
If, at the end of this, you want someone to do it, there are a number of guys that are quite capable and unlike me, are certified mth technicians. They will offer you prices later today, I am sure. Without stepping into the middle, I trust the guys that do the majority of question answering, in this forum and have been happy with repair work and electronics, from the few I've done business with.

Norm,  I do these, BUT here is the caveat.  Plenty of standard gauge PS-1 came without flywheels on the Pittman motor.  They drive gears on the axle vertically and there is no flywheel.

The PS-2 have a axle based flywheel that is not feasible to add to a PS-1 that doesn't have it.  So look at your motor assembly and see if you have a flywheel.  If you do they can be upgraded.  If not, you need to go with a ERR System that doesn't need flywheel to have cruise.  G
