I'm getting around to fixing my SP F3 ABA 20-2306-1 which has the motor fet burned out on the slave unit. Now that the slave board is available is the old one worth salvaging? Thanks for all your help. Bill

Well, if it's a simple component issue, I repair them so I have one in the parts box.
I've seen fet failure to the point the board traces were damaged and was still able to repair the board, this was a G scale MTH engine, and the issue never occurred again!

It's a runaway trailing unit and it has been narrowed down to the motor fet. Every thing else works great I just don't know how to change a fet and with shipping costs I didn't want to ship the whole set out so now that I see MTH parts has a slave board I thought I would just purchase that? I'm not afraid to try to fix it but really don't know where to start! Bill
Hi, the board could probably be repaired for 20.00 to 25.00 plus shipping. maybe less!
I'm in new jersey!
Thanks Alan! I will most likely take you up on your offer. I am going to go ahead an order a new one and when that arrives I will send you the old one. I will then have a backup. Hate throwing things away that can be fixed. I'm in Washington state so if I worked on it I could get farther away!!!! Seems whenever I have a railroad problem it gets resolved on the east coast!
Hi ok sounds great!
