I just got back my Weaver Torpedo with the PS2 and smoke unit upgrades. The upgrade was done by Eric Hofberg, forum member chug. My goal with the engine is to get it to look like the real Torpedo as it did after WWII.

Here is a picture of the real Torpedo from the late 1940s.


Here is a picture of my Weaver with the side panels removed. I may have to do a little cutting of the remaining shroud, but it pretty close to the look I want now.

For a DCS conversion, the locomotive must have a flywheel in order to install the tach reader. Some Williams brass engines have flywheels, some do not. I believe Timko's can install a motor with a flywheel on an engine that doesn't have one.

A while back I converted a Weaver John Wilkes to DCS. That's a very similar conversion to a PRR Torpedo. I posted about it; the thread contains some useful information on converting brass engines to DCS or TMCC. The thread is here.
