Gentlemen,
I will be performing a Proto-ectomy on a MTH PS3 Geep. Will the couplers need to be replaced with Lionel couplers? I have already done several conversions but the is the first proto 3 model.

Yes, most likely. PS-3 and 2 couplers are the same, and they have a much lower resistance. You can use PS-1 couplers if you have them. I have them if not. Just need to specify short or long, G
You will need to change the couplers. If I recall correctly, PS1 and Lionel are the same impedance but PS2 and PS3 are different.
Correct, the PS2/3 couplers will take out the coupler triacs on the R4LC after a few activations.
