I've got an MTH Imperial ES44 of new production (2015).

Last ran it in DCS, ran fine, no issues.

Just ran it in conventional as usual at home, no back up light. Tried conventional reset, no luck. Other than taking it into the LHS, are than any tips to get the light back? FWIW, headlight and ditch lights work as they should. I also took the radiator cap off, which exposes sound and smoke controls as well as the rear motor and back up light and there was no obvious broken wires, etc. (Did not take shell, just magnetic rear hatch).

Thanks!

You are saying it worked properly on a recent DCS test, but not on a later conventional test?

When you take off the shell see how it is connected.  If plug make sure it did not push pins out of female connector.  Make sure wire was not pinched under shell.

If connected via the spring pad method make sure the connector did not push out and the springs length is good.

The real goal is to find out the LED still works.  Using a 3 volt source or a  higher DC source with a limiting resistor to test the LED.  Polarity matters.

While LED last longer, you can have a manufacturing defect and early failure on some.  It happens.

Or the LED is good, and it is the wiring, connector, or possibly the 40pin contact as mentioned by Marty.   G

G,

That is correct. No issues until yesterday.

I popped open the shell earlier and didn't see an obvious 40 pin connector. Saw what I thought may be it but there were so many wires surrounding it, etc that I opted not to screw with it. Since it is under warranty, I boxed the engine up and it is waiting to go to the LHS tomorrow.
