Regarding the sounds for PS3 engines, I am trying to figure out how to play some of the different sounds. Experimenting with my new premier transfer diesel, I am trying to play different engine and idle sounds, however scrolling through my options on the remote, I am only finding 1 idle sound and 1 engine sound. I would think that if the engine is running and not moving that I would be able to play different sounds such as air brakes and such. Does this engine just not have any extra sounds, if not how can I get to the others.

If I remember correctly I think the I gauge companion said there was room for at least 10 idle and 10 engine sounds? (Doing this by memory, that number could be off)

Thanks for your help in advance.

In 1950-1951, Lima-Hamilton built twenty-two colossal 2,500-hp transfer units for the Pennsylvania Railroad. These boxy center-cab units served for transfer work, which was similar to switching but on a larger scale. Rather than simply moving cars around a yard, these more powerful diesel engines moved cars from one yard to another, covering longer distances and heavier consists that would have been too challenging for many switchers. Although this large, dual-engine unit worked well for the PRR and its need to move coal cars from the mines to a central yard, such a large transfer unit proved too bulky and inflexible for many railroads, which opted for a cow-and-calf arrangement when they needed to perform heavier switching duties.

M.T.H. continues our proud tradition of offering models of unusual prototypes with an impressive, highly detailed version of this unique engine. With the realistic operation offered by Proto-Sound 3.0, it will add interest to your working layout.

Did You Know?

Lima-Hamilton built only these 22 transfer units, 136 switchers, and 16 road switchers before they were subsumed in a merger with Baldwin.

Assuming you are using the DCS remote:

You should be able to access all of these from the "More" menu found by scrolling sideways through the programable function keys (the 'S' keys) at the top of the remote.  S5 activates an arrow to the next menu item.  You will come to a 'more' menu and when you select that, you'll get the entire list of PS2/PS3 sounds and functions.  You can move these to the main menus if you like.  Also, check the 'Sound' menu to make sure that things like "cab chatter" and others are turned on.

If you are doing this, and not seeing the options, then I'm not sure what the issue is.  I just checked my PS3 F3 ABA and they are all in there.

Good luck!

Zett:

As stated, The More key is the door to all the sounds in the engine.

I always sort mine, several favorites on the first 2 pages, then remaining sounds in numbered order Engine then idle, odd stuff like Odometer go to the end, Track Signal goes to the last position as I can then scroll backwards to get it fast.

Stumper:

I thought I was the only fossil left with a functional C=64 !

Mine is in the box in the basement now tho...

Along with 2 C=128's, Several floppy drives (both kinds), monitors, modems, and one of every Amiga model.

Yep, I'm a pack rat.

Oh, I still have an Amiga 4000/060 on a desk in the den with a Video Toaster/Flyer system.

That is staying active until I can't do anything except Hi-Def.

20 years old and still running great, Gotta love well built equipment.

Thanks for the replies. I will have to check it out today. I have been using the MORE key to scroll through, but I dont remember having 3 idle sequences to play. I only remember 1, so I will have to take a look. Unless every time I press the idle sequence key it plays different idle sounds, but I dont think that was the case. Ill post an update later.
