I had one of the tender marker lights ( I believe LED ) that failed ( red lens part of the small bulb was not intact with the white base ) on a ps2 3volt RK Triplex.

I only had a pair of markers from a ps3 RK to use as replacements.                                                 The original ps2 lights were wired in PARALLEL............the ps3 lights that I have are wired in SERIES.       Also.... I had to change the red and black wire pins on the ps3 connector since they were reversed from the original ps2 connector.

When I do the startup the tender lights now flash once and when I get the full start up the tender lights do stay on like normal.     Hard to tell without my light meter but the lights do seem a little brighter..??.

Anyway......can I safely leave the ps3 in series markers the way they are or do I have to go in and cut and splice wires to make the parallel arraingment  ?

Also, If I have to change the wiring, sometimes I do add resistors to slightly dim the markers/class lamps. Obviously a "your choice" kind of thing but if the soldering iron is hot and you have to make changes anyway....

Also, no set value. Depending on the LED and desired effect, I just have to experiment and try to see what looks best. Somewhere between 50-330 Ohms usually to get the change I want. I just keep a resistor assortment handy.

I'll have to take a look and get back to you on the original wiring for this tender's markers guys .

Darned if you weren't right about the series wiring in this thing John.

I cut the shrink tubing away and found that there was no red to red or black to black just a soldered loop.

So I'm guessing it's alright to leave the in series ps3 donor lights in the tender .!?!

Another great assist on the forum.........Thank you JOHN , VERNON  and  LOU.

Yup George.    The red wire pin didn't look right going to the black wire pin .   I just pulled the pins out of the connector and made the adjustment.

Interesting info about the PS-1 different . Thank you.

I'm going to make a post ( WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE ) that I may need your help on .
