I believe it's based on the Postwar Berk chassis so it should handle 027 with the exception of Postwar 027 switch motor housings.  It'll look and run better on 031 and up though.

Thanks John.  I have an opportunity to purchase one with a remote.  Next question if I may?  I'm running two layouts (conventional) with a ZW.  The layout I would run this on has an EXTREME grade.

Will this engine and remote 'maintain' a constant, dialed in, speed up and down my grade with use of the remote?

The Lionchief line does NOT have cruise control and it won't maintain a constant speed either on grades or curves.  The Lionchief Plus line, however, does have cruise control.  The "extreme" grade may be impassable even with manipulation of the throttle, it depends on your definition of "extreme".

Thanks John - that's what I needed to know.  My ZW can power equipment up my grade.
