The insulation tubing on the front of Lionel scale Hudson handrails is a well known necessary evil to keep the handrails (TMCC antennas) from shorting against the boiler. But I noticed on the new Lionel Vision Hudson they have done away with the tubing even though the handrails still come very close to the front of the boiler. What's different about the newer handrails other than the fact that they're now painted black as opposed to plated? Does the paint itself insulate the handrails? Thanks for any help.
