I am testing a Burlington zephyr with ps2, I believe this is the 5volt board. I remember having it running on my dcs layout with no issues but now I am testing it with an older american flyer transformer and the lights and smoke come on but no sound and I cant get the engine to leave neutral  I tried an older lionel transformer from the early 90's still no movement or engine sounds but the horn and bell will blow on their own sporadically  I imagine it needs a new battery but would that account for the sounds being missing too? Or is this because of the transformer I am using?

Stevin,

A PS2 engine will not come out of neutral in conventional mode if the battery is weak. Charge (overnight) the battery or replace it with a fully-charged battery.
