A&W RR Logoi have wanted a modern 3rd rail diesel for a while now

something like a dash 9 etc although i will most likely miss out on this run

i can hope for the future i guess

since these engines are built to order

i was wondering if when i could afford it scott could do me a custom unit for the Allegheny & Western configured for long hood forward operation

here attached is my logo

the engine paint scheme is black with a red and gold stripe running the length of the engine like 611 with a red and gold phoenix bird with its wings out stretched on the front of the long hood and "There's no stopping us" written in script under the road number on the cab sides.

the only engines on my roster that won't run long hood forward are cowl engines and f units for obvious reasons if i get any

Also, Cody, you seem to be missing a couple of obvious points.

First of all, there are tons of similar modern diesels on the secondary market from Lionel, MTH and Atlas, or even some more basic Williams models. Since you don’t appear picky about the exact prototype, you don’t have to spend top dollar on a new 3rd Rail model, given the limited funds you have often said you have available for trains.

Second, you can easily have an existing model custom painted to a scheme you prefer. That’s how one-off requests like this happen. It will cost you extra, but not as much as 3rd Rail would charge for a custom job on a new model.

Contrary to the other posts.  3rd Rail will do a custom road name in any road name and graphics you want, but you would have to order at least 20 of them to cover the cost of the investment in design time and production time.  There are few forum members who have "sponsored" a run of locomotives by paying the entire up front cost and then selling the ones they didn't want to keep to recoup their investment.

While 3rd Rail has not done a fantasy scheme that is not based on a prototypical railroad, there have been a few fantasy paint schemes of prototype roads on locomotives that road never had.  I'm not revealing which ones though.

If you are looking for a one off, then no, 3rd Rail does not do one off custom runs.  We have a hard enough time getting the factory to get everything sorted out correctly as it is.

I will say that owning a 3rd Rail locomotive is something everyone should aspire to, but I am biased based on my role with the company.  Any of the names mentioned above will serve you well for sending out to one of the many custom painters who assist many modelers on this site.
