I ask this question as I don't want to blow-up an existing Z 750 controller I have, that is working (albeit very ordinary, and no match to my Z 1000).

Can I hook-up my Z 1000 brick to the Z 750 controller to get the same power out-put I get from the Z 1000 controller???

Can the Z 750 power board handle the extra umph from a Z 1000 brick, or will it fry it????

Just asking before I do something stupid.

Attached is a picture of mine that was purchased in 2014.  Note the warning of 6 amp max which means it can work with a Z-1000 brick.  It has a green power light.  I saw a picture of a Z-750 for sale on ebay that was marked 4 amp max.  It had a red power light.  Does yours have a max amps warning?

Thanks GGG....I think you are right, but I just wanted to run it past you guys first.

Thanks JFC454 for the instruction sheet on the "Z Controller", however I have a specific Z 750 "Controller" which pre-dates the universal Z Controller.

I took a couple of photos of my Z 750 controller, so everyone could see exactly what it is.

As you can see, it is only rated at 4 amps, not the 6 amps shown in your photo, so I am still not sure if it can handle the power from the Z 1000 brick.

Here is a photo of my Z 1000 brick, but there is no mention of the maximum amps it puts out.

I'll wait in the corner for further instructions.

Watts = Volts x amps.  So 100 W/18 V = 5.6 amps.  The max amps that the Z-1000 brick would deliver is less than the 6 amp max that appears on the later controllers.  The brick doesn't output 5.6 amps constantly unless the train is drawing that much current.  If your controller says 4 amps max I would not use the Z-1000 unless I had a ammeter in the circuit to keep track of the current.
