This is PS-1 correct, so lights and smoke are track power. IS the volume pot turned full up? If you are hearing 2 dings at start up and shut down than it sounds like speaker is good. Have you tried a reset 18? The volume can be lowered electronically, the procedure is in the manual. So try a reset 18 to restore sounds. G
I do not here the dings at start up or shut down
Sorry, I though you did get the initial dings. I would check speaker and volume pot. Maybe volume turned off with pot. G
I will check the speaker I have already tried the volume pot
thanks for your help
Let us know as the tech guys have one more thing that can be done.
Will do
Well I tried to hook up another speaker to the engine but I still did not get any sound through the speaker, is there another way to check to see if the speaker is good or bad.
Measure the resistance, should read 8 ohms. Or test in a known good engine. Are the three wires on the volume pot? Do the outer wires read 0ohms or 10K depending on position of pot? Are the three wires hooked to the three pin connector? I really never ran into on that made no sounds but ran fine. Is it a PS-1 engine or DCRU? Can you take a picture of what you have?
It could be a bad board, maybe software needs to reprogrammed, but if it is running, not sure. At this point you need to start swapping parts to isolate, but we need to know what you have for sure. G
yes I can take a Picture this evening, but I think this is PS-1
Here is a PDF of the engine I have hope it will open
