I have a pair of Alaska Railroad F-3s (they go with my Alaska railroad 60s, 70s era passenger cars) but the programming of the non powered unit and even the powered unit is kind of a problem for me as the instructions are for a TMCC controller (and I have a Legacy controller). Does anyone have experience of how to do this for the TMCC engines? I am trying to set sounds (seems there are multiple settings) and I cannot get the smoke units on or the non powered sound, smoke to work. In program the non powered blinks but...

What are the part numbers? You program them as TMCC engines. ENG, IDxx, SET
Then AUX1 ??. ?? Is the feature code for those engines which is in the owners manual. most common feature code for diesels with smoke is AUX1 8.

Robbin,
You can find a TMCC owners manual in this thread:
https://ogrforum.com/topic/tmc...rials-andamp-manuals
The link is under MartyE’s post (about the 5th post), page 22 gives lash up instructions for TMCC (using a TMCC Cab1 remote and TMCC base).
Instructions for Legacy Cab1L and base plus Legacy Cab2 remote and base are still on Lionel’s website.

For any Lionel AA sets Legacy or TMCC you do not have to set the component members up as a train you can use the same engine number for both AA units whether they are powered or non powered. If both units are powered one unit (usually the one with sound) will start in forward the other powered unit will always start in reverse. Give it a try. Even add on B units whether powered or not can use the same engine number as long as you place the powered B unit in the correct start up position. Good luck email me if any questions.j
