I'm considering buying one of the Legacy NW2 switchers from Lionel (2016) and I was wondering about their pulling capability.  I've seen videos showing examples of pulling 5 or 6 plastic body cars and wondered if it could handle a few die-cast cars or a Legacy crane/boom car okay.  Does anyone have a feel for how much is too much with one of these engines?  Aside from the initial quality issues I read about, these look like pretty neat yard workers.  Thanks for any insight.

Otherwise, I’ve run both with up to 10 cars, mixed Atlas, Lionel plastic and die cast and K-line aluminum. Never broke a sweat. They’re switching engines so they don’t move like mainline locos. They can handle a crane & boom car, the Max I would run with these is 15  mixed media rolling stock. Anything beyond that number you may be asking for trouble.
