I have a question regarding the reversing unit that was used in the early Lionel 0-6-0 Docksider units.

Track power connects to the two black wires in one corner, the 3-pin LEOCO connector goes to the directional lighting board, and the 2-pin LEOCO is for the motor. The lock-out switch is hardwired to the underside of the board.

But what do the two red wires in the other corner connect to? They're electrically connected.

Thanks for any help!

Jim,

That was my guess, but I'm fairly certain it's not for the smoke unit as these units normally use a 20 ohm resistor, which tells me it probably operates off of track power.

Rob,

There aren't any markers/class lights on the loco. Both front and rear headlights are powered through the 3-pin LEOCO connector.

Thanks to you both for responding. Does anyone happen to have one of these units opened-up on their bench?

Thanks for the photo, Jim! It turns-out that we're both right.

After seeing your photo and then checking the traces on the board, I found that the red leads are completely isolated from everything else (besides being interconnected themselves). In other words, the leads are nothing but a junction point between the smoke unit to the front and the on/off switch to the back, which then connects to track power.

Thanks again for the help.
