So when you see one of those long military load trains rolling by I wonder how that load got loaded. When, lets say UP is moving a long train of tanks, humvee and what have you, how do they get that load? Is it loaded at a military base and then "picked up" by UP? Or is all the equipment transported by truck to a UP year for loading? Do military or UP personnel load them?
Please let me know what you know or point me somewhere, where I can find that info.

Most Army bases have a small rail yard, sidings and loading platforms. Many vehicles are loaded circus style. Few may be loaded by crane or fork lift. Loading, chocking and tying down is the responsibility of the shipper subject to inspection by railroad personnel. John

Generally, very carefully by military personnel.

No. Besides, there aren't enough "trucks" to carry all those huge Abrams tanks.

Yes.
