Questions on using ME-House of Duddy Code 100 Flex

I have some Code 100 Flex track I want to use on sidings. I have questions on its use. First in transitioning from code 148 would it be better to put a piece of code 125 in between the code 148 and 100. Second will there be any issues running Weaver or Atlas Switchers on them. What wheelsets would hit the spikes. Any info would help greatly. I'm getting ready to lay it soon.
