The NYC was formed in 1914 and consolidated the LS&M. The station was closed in 1971 when passenger service was stop.
Rail Fanning is the hobby of taking pictures of real trains as the are running on the tracks. Many times you get to see very rare and unusual trains and engines. Some people post them on the web and the train is track across the country.
You might be lucky and take pictures of a real John Deere Train, Circus Trains or a Dept of Defense train.
The station is on what is now theCSXwater front main line and has about 4 trains per hour pass by it. So bring your camera and chair and enjoy the day.
