The "New York And Long Island Traction Co." had trolley cars similar in appearance to the MTH Rail King Brill car. My suggestion is to produce the existing Rail King Brill car in the "Bottle Green" color of the "New York And Long Island Traction Co." with their lettering and stripes in silver.
Existing Rail King Brill
The story of the "New York And Long Island Traction Co." is documented in Vincent F. Seyfried's book of the company's name. The "New York And Long Island Traction Co." ran through Queens County into Nassau County, through such towns as Freeport, Hempstead, Garden City, Mineola, Bellerose, Floral Park and New Hyde Park.
Car No. 37 shown, and odd numbered sister Cars 49 thru 61 were built by Brill in 1905 and 1906 as a double truck semi-convertibles. These cars were bought to operate on the newly opened Jericho Turnpike Line. The Jericho Turnpike Line branched off of the existing Hempstead Line at 212th Place in Queens, and ran through Queens Village, Bellerose, Floral Park, New Hyde Park and terminated on Franklin Avenue in Mineola.
