Railking RTR Santa Fe Passenger Set

I don't have this set, but I do have two of the MTH SD70ACE starter sets, one from 2011 catalog (PS2) and one from 2012 catalog (PS3). I don't think you can go wrong with MTH starter sets. PS3 is PS3 no matter what engine it's in and they have been making these sets (and engines) a long time. I think they just switch the set contents around every few years, just as the SD70 sets they had for a few years have now been replaced by the current ES44AC sets.

I think my LHS may still have an MTH F3 set or two. MTH shows several dealers with them still in stock. My only concern would be the warranty on a 2-3 year old set, even though it is a new set. MTH can't warranty these things forever, but I don't know what the time limit is for new old stock like this? I would ask your dealer about this. Other than that you should be fine. 

I have the SF F-3 deluxe set they last made in 2006 which was purchased in 2010.  It is far superior than anything MTH has released to the present. It was almost an exact replica of the PW SF F-3's with smoke, PS 2.0, and cab figures.  The passenger cars were a baggage, coach, and observation measuring over 16 inches long. It's a shame they don't make that set anymore. On to your main topic I have owned a set like this before and it is very nice a great runner and the sound is great and so is the price. The only small problem I have with it is the faux fuel tanks.  The size of the locomotive is small but they look great especially if you have a small layout.
