This is wonderful.  I didn't know that this organization existed.  Now I do.

My wife and I have a collection of real railroad china and silverware that we use when we have guests for dinner. We use a set of reproduction china for everyday dishes.  NH Joe

Outstanding news! I've had the opportunity to work with the RCAI this past year as Rail & Road Auctions has quickly branched into the railroadiana space. The organization is filled with kind members and outstanding leadership. From a business stand point our best marketing returns this year have come from using RCAI and OGR, so having the two working together is wonderful.

I invite you all to check out the RCAI and their quarterly publication The Express which is filled with interesting information. As someone who has spent a number of years learning the O gauge market, taking a deeper dive into railroadiana has been very enlightening.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and appreciation. On a personal note, I’ve been a part of this forum for probably close to 15 years.  I’m happy our group made the decision to invest in O Gauge Railroading to promote our association and hobby. I truly believe modeling and collecting Railroadiana go hand in hand. We will be active in this forum and as Alan said, we have some really neat and innovative things planned for 2021 pandemic or no pandemic, it’s not going to stop us. Again, thanks to all of you for your interest and we look forward to interacting and participating with you.

I know of someone close by to me who claims to have the world's second largest collection of locomotive builder plates. One the plates that he has is either off of a New Haven EF3 electric locomotive of which 10 were built or a EP4 electric locomotive of which only 5 were built. He has been thinking about getting rid of his collection as he has been ill and has lost a lot of weight. He is in his late 70's. I would like that plate. A mutual friend has inquired for me as to that plate. Any thoughts on this matter?

I think that you should buy the builder's plate from the collector if you like it and the price is within your budget.  The photo below is of the nose of EP5 379 that was rescued by a NH employee from the scrap pile.  He had it displayed at the Hartford NMRA convention in 2009.  The other plate is the tail sign from the Merchant's Limited.  It was also rescued from the trash.  NH Joe
