Now this is rare to see today. And the best part, I had not idea this was going to be any special train. Well, I crossed the Norfolk Southern Lake Erie District single track mainline by Match Works in Mentor Ohio and saw the westbound signal was caution yellow diverge into Mentor Siding. So I pulled into Match Works east parking lot, got out and there was the headlight for the westbound. So as he got closer to the crossing, I started filming and holy cow!! What a catch!!!

NS westbound local C63 in Mentor Ohio this evening, lead by long hood forward NS SD40-2 #3311 with an excellent P5 train horn, pulling NS / ex. N&W caboose #555516.

By the way, the SD40-2 is a Freeze-Beater. That means is has the feature that no fuel lines will freeze up.

Got any further information on that?

Found this...

Thanks. That makes a LOT more sense, i.e. a stand-by, plug-in electrical heating & circulating system to keep the coolant from freezing. Nothing to do with fuel lines, directly.
