Hi.  I'm new to this great forum and new to model trains in general.  But today I just wanted to run my latest purchase, the MTH Abraham Lincoln 2-6-0 O gauge locomotive and tender.  I figured it was a good a way to honor our former president as any.  Here's a short video so you can join in remembering, too.

Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the comments.  I'm running this on my Lionel FasTrack with the Lionel transformer, so there is a combination of whistles and bells, but there is a lot of banter between the engineers and even the passengers.  Nothing Lincoln specific however.  Over time I hope to be able to master the combinations to get all the effects.

Welcome!  Please stay and while and participate.  This is a great place.

I have never seen that locomotive and train.  Nice train.  Thank you for the video.

The only Lincoln thing I have is the Lionel Lincoln Funeral train from several years ago.  It is on display here in my study.  The loco is scale, and soooo tiny and delicate, that I never run it (please the fact that it does not have an e-unit, or any sound, takes a lot of the fun out of running it.  But locos from that period were beautiful in their own way, if so primitive compared to what came after them.  Yours is a very good looking train.  Nice.  Again, thanks.

I have one of the MTH Lincoln steamers also. Bought it through the MTH RR club at super good price. I believe these steamers were originally going to be for Disney World but the project did not happen for whatever reason and MTH converted the paint scheme to the Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.
