Hi guys, I feel dumb having to ask, but here goes. I'm removing a truck to have a gear replaced and I'm having a heck of a time removing this connector. Do I need to release a tab or does this just pull apart? I have some fine electronic needle nose and can't seem to get it. It's the one with 2 black wires in the photo. It's 6-18226.

Don’t pull it by the wires, just in case you didn’t know. Maybe take a small jewelers size flathead screwdriver and wedge it in between the wire connector and board connector( there is a slot on the left side) just enough to get movement then use your pliers gently to pull it completely off.
Glad I asked. I didn't see that little slot for a screw driver. It was a piece of cake and popped right off. Glad I asked, and a sincere thank you!
Most connectors used in model trains have a latch, or some other mechanism to keep them connected during operation and to prevent them from coming loose.

Not JST connectors, maybe the 4-6 pin molex for the motor driver or the 2 pin molex on dummy boards. In 3d printing they hot glue the JST connectors.
