Has anyone had any luck removing paint from lionel plastic tenders(2046w)for example. I pick a couple up that an earlier owner just paint over the oringal paint. If so what did you use. Thanks for any imput.

A BUNCH of paint stripping threads here. And as many threads there are a equal number of paint removing methods. Paint stripper, alcohol, brake fluid, oven cleaner and media blasting. I like the alcohol method but it does not often work well......I then go to brake fluid. But there are many here that claim brake fluid eats their models.....I have never had that issue in almost 40 years of use.....but they must have....so user beware!
Paint remover from a hobby shop seems to work the best. I have had brake fluid soften the plastic but it was ok after a good cleaning.
