Using a set of Union Pacific diesels from Menards, I created a nice Soo Line diesel set. They turned out pretty nice!

Yes the did. Nice job!
Good job.
Hi Vic28,
Very nice job on the Menards diesels. Would you be willing to share some of the details of how you created these beauties? I'm curious about how you stripped the old paint, masked the different sections, and what paint did you use? Do you have an air brush, or did you use rattle cans? Did you use decals for the Soo lettering? Inquiring minds would like to know!

Nice redo Vic
Thanks for the nice comments. I used goo gone and a magic eraser (cut smaller) to remove the just the lettering, which was painted on. I didn't remove the paint, I primered and painted over the original UP yellow. The masking was a little tricky, I had to make a couple of curves under the windows. I used the yellow tape for delicate surfaces, it sticks well but won't damage the newly painted surfaces. I did use an airbrush, and found decals online. The trucks were originally gray, I painted them black, and the whole bottom of the locomotive, too. To seal the paint and the protect the decals, I used a matte varnish.
