So, I have selected what new roadname I want for my legacy gp-7. I am not really that hot about Western Maryland. I like Southern and IC paintschemes. I have never repainted an engine before, so what would any of you suggest I do before I proceed? Secondly, where can I get the Southern Railroad Logo/Heralds to put on the engine? I look forward to what I will look like on my railroad.

I know the fealing bud..I'd got ahold of a MTH railking  SD45 that somebody painted wissonsin central..Foundout it used to orginaly be PRR in which it is going back too ..going to strip it because the paint job is alittle rough in my eyes.you can if thats factory paint on it?you can take a red scotch bright pad and scuff it up.. If its decals then start pealing them off.. you can use tar & wax remover to take off the sticky resado off the surface...If there painted on,then scotch bright them ,then  I'd would prime over them so it wont beed threw your new paint color.
