Have a couple K Line 4-6-2 K3003 steamers with the original (burnt out) crappy seuthe smoke units.
Anyone know of a little better unit that would fit in these?

How much space do you have. These are decent sized units, there should be room for a fan driven smoke unit.
Well, I opened it up and there is no room for anything but a seuthe type unit.
Unfortunately, I have no idea what voltage to get. Was thinking 8 - 14, or 11-16.
I also have a 3003, when you upgrade please post the part number/voltage.
The new seuthe units in the WBB 4-6-0s work very well. They should be available from WBB given that the loco is in production.
Trace the wires to see where the unit gets power. IF a Voltage regulator board, read the VR value. Probably 6 or 8 Volts DC. I it goes to track power, it will be a much higher resistance and voltage value. G
The 6V Seuthe units I have measure around 10 ohms, I don't have any other voltage ratings.
Unless this is a very unusual K-Line, there is room for a small fan driven smoke unit. Here's a couple I use in small spaces, there is also a vertical unit used in Lionel Atlantic's.

Ordered a #6.
Way too big!
Re ordered a #99 8-14 volt.
Exact dupe of old unit that was in it.
Works good for a small seuthe. Puts out some decent smoke.
Here's a K-Line semi-scale Mikado with full fan driven smoke and a Super-Chuffer, it's quite possible to do real smoke in these.
Very nice! I wish I could have fit a fan unit in the 4 6 2, but there was no room. The little seuthe barely fit...it's not an engine I run that much. Was just doing some repairs and figured it would be nice to fix. Still a great puller!
It helped that the electronics, other than the Super-Chuffer board, are all in the tender for this upgrade.
