Many hobbyists know -- the small plastic switch stand for a Lionel Fastrack manual switch is easily broken. Is a better replacement part available somewhere? I don't want to buy MORE Lionel replacements; they'll also break sooner or later. IMHO, someone at Lionel should have "over-engineered" this small, vulnerable part.
Suggestions welcome.

Mine are not plastic, but metal. I think plastic would be stronger. I bought a couple of shafts new, and both broke before I could install them. Even JB Weld doesn't hold them together. I'd welcome a better fix; pretty sure we aren't getting one from Lionel.
Thinking out loud......would a Caboose Industries ground throw work?
Haven't looked at the mechanics but the throw is certainly more sturdy.

Thanks for that tip. I did a web search for a "Replacement Switch Stand" and Caboose Industries popped up. I'll check it out.
