Folks,

I am looking for a replacement for the rearmost wheel set (the larger diameter wheels) in the trailing truck of a 3rd Rail NYC  J-1a Hudson.  The wheels are 12 spoked and appear to have a diameter (not including flange) of approximately 50 scale inches.  Anybody have an idea as to where I might find a suitable replacement?  Thanks very much!

Bob,

The largest PSC makes is 45".  They used to offer 50" but, as far as I know, they are no longer available.

Guess I could make a new master for a wider tire but what's the point?  I'd probably sell 3 sets over 10 years.  Not worth the time and expense.

If a person doesn't want the P48 axle & tires you could Norm how much he wants for just the castings.

Another thought.  Slater's makes a large number of wheels including spoked.

International Hobbies can assist with ordering.

Please keep in mind Slater's products are 1/43rd scale.  As an example, I have a set of their 3' 9" spoked wheels that measure close to 48" in 1/48th.

I would offer the set I have but they're flush axle and I assume you need shouldered.
