Steve,

I will be eager to learn if the plastic chain drive belt you just bought from Micro-Mark works as I have several RichArt locos in both O and Standard Gauge whose belts will need to be replaced in the future.

The chain I ordered was the #84791. I just installed it and it is the correct chain for these Rich_Art drives. My only complaint is the non adjust-ability so the there is a little more slack than I'd like, but it will do. Not a chain issue, just the design. If it were to give problems, they sell gears and I could make a idler to take up the slack.

At least we know a source now for these types of units. The shipping cost still irked me, but happy to have it back like it should be.

I also have one more type car from the series on the way. That will give me 5 cars and the engine. Anyone know how many were made? Steve Latta says he still has a number of frames left from this project.

I have 7 cars, dated 1983 through 1989, TTOS National Conventions.  Not sure if that's complete but I think it is.

Thanks for the info and evaluation on the chain.  Mine still looks okay, but I'm going to order a foot of it like you did, to have it on hand.

Just a follow-up note on the Richart drive chain subject...

Although bigger and heavier than the mining train locomotive by several multiples, the big standard gauge Richart 28-wheel Olympian bipolar locomotive uses the identical drive chain on its 8 drive axles; and the Micro-Mark #84791 "Miniature Drive Chain" is an exact match, and works well once installed.

... just in case you were all just holding your breath waiting for that information...

I will try and remember to dig my Army loco out and compare it with the Std gauge. I'll let you know.

Hi all.  I've got one of the Toy Train Historical Foundation's Army locos, and a Toonerville Trolley (both O gauge).  Is the plastic chain in the Standard Gauge mine loco, the same size that is in the O gauge pieces?
