RMT READY MADE TRAINS ORE CARS
Recently an RMT train dealer posted on Facebook about an RMT product that the store had received. Instead of a conversation with RMT or its distributor to solve this dealer’s complaint, this posting has caused undue concerns to all RMT dealers and consumers worldwide who truly enjoy the many RMT products. Claims of uncoupling, wobbling and rubbing wheels were made.
Upon additional independent testing by RMT, it was confirmed that some, BUT NOT ALL, of these ore cars recently delivered in December may experience these wheel problems.
The ore cars in question are:
96716 MILWAUKEE 96719-121-221-321-421-521 Bethlehem Steel all plants
96728 BURLINGTON NORTHERN 96799-16 US STEEL
96799-26 PROJECT 113 96799-106 G&W WESTERN LABRADOR
Further inspection traced the cause to a new vendor that may have indeed supplied defective wheels to the factory.
To correct this problem, RMT is having replacement wheels produced by another vendor and delivery should be in about 30 days.
