Not sure if anyone saw this or posted it already.  (Sorry in advance if anyone did)

Anyways I saw this article and thought it was pretty cool.

FROM THE WEBMASTER:

Hey Ken...check this thread so you can learn how to post links. They work better than just pasting the web address here. I fixed your post.

Interesting article...

It was a good read.   I'm not a big magazine guy, but it caught my attention on the news stand at the supermarket.   He really does seem to enjoy the hobby - with his success I guess the sky's the limit in terms of what and how he models, but I didn't get the sense that he just pays people to build all of it for him.   Pretty good stuff!!!

Can Mike Wolf sing???

I don't know, but Neil Young can, and play the harmonica and guitar at the same time. I guess that explains the "seamless" sound effects of TMCC/Legacy.

From what I had read in the past Rod travels with two big trunks. One is tools and supplies the other projects under construction or completed while on the road.

This seems to be true as when he played White Sulfur Springs Greenbrier two years ago he had some trunks delivered that he made sure were handled carefully!! This per a WSS employee I know!

Yea .... that "photo" is way wrong in every way. Lol.

When he was on 60 Minutes, he stated that the hobby is really relaxing to him. He has a couple glasses of wine as he works at it.   (Only, its a couple of Budweisers for me)

Fraid not Sam. At least not well, and only after a few beers.

But I do like the hobby a bunch, and I have followed my namesake's train travels.

A few years back I was in Discount Hobbies in Dallas (since gone bye-bye) and when I checked out I handed the gentleman my Visa. He looked at it a moment and said "You're the second Rod Stewart I've had in the store this week." Turns out the other one had been in Dallas and I gather he makes it a habit to drop into train shops on his travels.
