Hi everyone,

I have a ROW PRR T1 that I have tried selling a few times, but, according to my 2 boys, I am now been forbidden from selling it. They like it too much. So I'm trying to decide what to do with it, basically keep it conventional or get it upgraded to TMCC. I do like it because it goes around my O-42 even if it looks a bit silly with the overhang and it is a pretty nice looking engine, it has definitely grown on me.

I guess my question is it worth it to do so and does it make sense to invest the money into it? It runs just fine the way it is, the sound works, lights work, one of the seuthe units in it doesn't work but the other does. We do have lots of conventional trains that we run occasionally but I guess we've gotten spoiled running our PS2/PS3/Lionchief Plus engines.

If I were to go the ERR/TMCC, I am assuming that none of the electronics would be able to be used, would need the ERR boards, a new smoke unit, and then of course someones labor to do it and shipping there and back. I'm sure I could probably figure it out, but it will inevitably end up as another project on my work bench that will get completed between now and the cooling of the universe.

Any thoughts or anyone attempt this? What would I be getting in to with this? I know worth is subjective term but am I better off leaving it as a conventional engine?

Shoot me an email. I am intrigued by what you want to do an I am definitely interest in helping. I do upgrades all the time an would love to do one on this locomotive.

I could upgrade the locmotive and keep that feature.

When I get home, I'll shoot you an e-mail.

I agree with prrhorseshoecurve.

FWIW, I would leave it alone and obtain a Lionmaster loco with the TMCC. Whats cool about the Rowi T1 is the Flickering firebox that you may loose while attempting the conversion.

That is one of the things I really do like about this engine. As a conventional engine, I really like it, sounds, lights, etc are all nice.
