Bought this boxed set a few years ago at the NorCal meet and had not run it. Really cute set with a Marx one way motor. Runs really nice and this tiny set gets a lot of attention.

Never heard of this manufacturer or this set, but it has great appeal, and is in superb operating condition! THANKS or sharing!
Clockwork or electric? Vintage?
Definitely not vintage. The driving wheels on the loco are 1950s-1970s Marx. Maybe a repro, or new production in an old style.

It's electric. Made in the 90's

Newly made in the 90's. He used a small Marx one way motor for these because it was about the only thing that would fit in that small shell.
I'm not sure what all Rulon made, but he is probably best know for making reproductions of a few different styles of Ives tenders. The car frames in this set are actually some of his tender frames.

Very interesting, and THANKS for the info! ☺
The cars are incredibly well done and whimsical... The loco not so much, imo
Steve,
That is a cute set.
I wonder if Taylor Made became the modern golf club maker?

My understanding is that Rulon Taylor was a train collector, who I believe specialized in Ives. I know he made a lot of Ives reproduction parts, especially for early Ives items.
He passed away a number of years ago and production of his items stopped at that time.
Really cute set!!!
