I have DCS running, how to I connect my Var1 port to run a conventional engine on the same tracks?

If you will be running both DCS and conventional, simply power your track from VARIABLE 1 for both. When running DCS, just set the voltage to about 16-18.

Be sure to also power the TIU via either Fixed #1 IN or the Aux. Power port.

Ok so I will leave the bannana plugs in Fixed One and then just run a power and common to the VAR 1 to a separate power source?
Best bet is to get a wall wart to power the TIU through the AUX port. Any 12-18 volt AC or DC adapter will do. Radio Shack has one; I do not have the model number handy.
Or, you could connect transformer to VAR IN, track to VAR OUT, and run a jumper between VAR IN & FIXED 1 IN.
If you ever start using 2 channels on your TIU, the wall wart is the way to go, to prevent losing control is a breaker or fuse powering FIXED 1 should open.

Just be sure not to feed more than about 18-volts. I mention this because some R-S adapters are settable.
